What port numbers should I use?
Ideally you should follow our step by step instructions for the specific application you`re using, if available. If not available, or if you`re using some custom software, then the port numbers you`ll need are below.

These are industry standard port numbers, apart from alternatives we have provided for client convenience.

Note - we can not provide you specific instructions for the software you`re using if it`s not on our list which you can find by clicking here. For instructions on how to set up your software please contact the company that provided it to you.


SMTP (Outgoing email)
  • Port 25   (alternative port is 81 for those internet providers who block 25)
  • Server: mail.ph9mail.co.uk (NOT mail@ph9mail.co.uk, NOT mail.ph9.co.uk)
  • Authentication IS required
  • Password encryption NOT required
  • SSL not required

IMAP (Incoming email / receiving email / folder synchronization)

  • Port 143
  • Server: mail.ph9mail.co.uk (NOT mail@ph9mail.co.uk, NOT mail.ph9.co.uk)
  • Authentication IS required
  • Password encryption not required
  • SSL not required

POP / POP3 (incoming email - note we recommend IMAP instead, see above)

  • Port 110
  • Server: mail.ph9mail.co.uk (NOT mail@ph9mail.co.uk, NOT mail.ph9.co.uk)
  • Authentication IS required
  • SSL not required
