iPhone / iPad... How to solve problems sending email when using Three, Orange, EE etc
Some mobile networks, such as Three mobile, EE and Orange block the standard port used to send email. They usually block this internationally standardized port to prevent you sending emails in case you're sending spam.

These instructions are written for the iPhone, but will be very similar for the iPad

Please make sure you follow these instructions in every detail otherwise they might not work.

If you are with Three mobile, EE, or Orange, or you receive errors with not being able to send emails, then please follow these instructions.

Please note these instructions are provided without warranty. If you continue to have problems please contact your mobile phone provider (eg Three, Orange, EE etc)


1) Click on the Settings icon.




2) Then, scroll down slightly until you reach Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then click it.




3) This will show you a list of email accounts that are linked with your iPhone. Click on the email account that you would like to configure.




4) Under the category IMAP, click on your email account.




5) Now, scroll to the bottom and under the category Outgoing Mail Server, click on SMTP - mail.ph9mail.co.uk.




6) Under the section Primary Server, click on mail.ph9mail.co.uk




7) Make sure that your details on this page are correct with the following;
Host Name - mail.ph9mail.co.uk
User Name - Username provided to you in your ph9 welcome pack
Password - Password provided to you in your ph9 welcome pack
Use SSL - OFF
Authentication - Password
Server Port - 81

When these details are correct, click Done at the top right.
